Things To Do
Hoe Mill Lock Camping & Caravan Site overlooks the glorious Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation in a quiet rural area in the South East of England, with plenty of good footpaths to explore the countryside.

The village of Woodham Walter is just under one mile to the south and has three pubs and a church. The small village of Ulting, to the north, has a picturesque church beside the Navigation.
The Navigation here is very popular amongst canoeists and paddleboarders.
The site is a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site, and you can bring your caravan or motorhome. Membership of the Club is required. Unfortunately we do not have the facilities to be able to accept tents.
The site is open between Easter and October. Find out more about the campsite.
For bookings please contact the Paper Mill Lock office at [email protected] or call 01245 226245.

There is a boaters’ toilet with a wash basin and drinking water, but no showers. Electric hook-up is available for each pitch, and the cost of electricity is included in the pitch fee.Â
Pitch Charges at Hoe Mill:
Caravans and Camper Vans:
ÂŁ19.00 per pitch per night Sunday to Thursday (excluding July and August) ÂŁ23.00 per pitch per night Fridays, Saturdays and all of July and August
If you are approaching Hoe Mill Campsite from the south, you will cross the Navigation over a bridge which has a three tonne weight restriction and 2 metre width restriction enforced by concrete barriers. We recommend, therefore, that you always approach from the North via Ulting and Hatfield Peverel. The turning into the gated drive for Hoe Mill Campsite is immediately before the traffic lights controlling access to the bridge.
